Coach Robin Chute

Robin Chute has dedicated his life to baseball. With experience as a player at the high school, collegiate, independent, and amateur levels—and years of coaching youth, high school, and college teams—Robin brings passion, knowledge, and leadership to every team he coaches.
He founded the Sioux City Futures Baseball & Softball Program, which began in 2012 with just one team for his twin boys.
Today, it has grown into a powerhouse with 24 teams, including softball (8U–18U), baseball (8U–14U), Legion and fall ball programs, and a summer amateur team made up of current college players from the Sioux City area.
Robin’s playing career was decorated with honors:
- Three-time All-State selection at South Tama High School
- Three-time All-Conference selection and two-time MVP in college
- Played at Kirkwood CC, University of South Dakota, and Briar Cliff University, where he still holds the single-season hits record
- Played with the Sioux City Explorers independent league team and in 15 seasons of amateur ball with the Vermillion Red Sox
- Currently plays with the Garretson Blue Jays, a perennial state tournament contender
As a coach, Robin has made a name for himself through his ability to develop talent and build winning teams
- Guided the Sioux City Futures 13U team from a struggling AA squad to a dominant Majors-level team that won its first four tournaments of 2025 undefeated
- Coached the Futures 10U AAA team with the same attention to detail and energy
- Led the Moville Post 303 Futures Legion team to a 2022 Iowa Legion State Championship and regional appearance in just its second season—plus two more state runner-up finishes
- Former assistant coach at Briar Cliff University and Woodbury Central High School, where his teams set multiple program records Robin’s coaching style is what sets him apart.
He believes in letting kids play with passion and flair while demanding focus on the little things—whether it’s a baserunning decision, glove angle on a grounder, or a hitter’s mindset in the box.
He teaches the why, not just the what, so his players grow mentally as well as physically.
With Good Boy Baseball, Robin takes on more of a player-manager role, maximizing in-game learning since practice time is limited. He’s hands-on, energetic, and invested in every player’s growth—both on and off the field.
Assistant Coach Carter Bleil

Carter Bleil has had a lifelong passion for baseball that started the moment he could hold a ball. From backyard wiffle ball games with his twin brother to competitive tournament play, Carter’s love for the game has only grown stronger over the years.
As an assistant coach with the Sioux City Futures, Carter brings a unique blend of knowledge, relatability, and leadership. His ability to connect with young players sets him apart—he not only teaches the game with clarity and energy, but also earns the respect and trust of the athletes he works with. Carter is especially gifted at breaking the game down in a way that younger players can understand and apply, both mentally and physically.
His involvement in the Sioux City Futures program runs deep—he and his brother’s love for the game helped inspire the start of the program. Even while attending college, Carter continues to give back as the Social Media Director, playing an active role in promoting and growing the Futures community.
Carter’s playing résumé speaks for itself:
- Two-time All-State selection at Woodbury Central High School, where he played five varsity seasons and set multiple school records
- Key contributor on the 2022 Iowa Legion State Championship team
- USSSA Futures standout, finishing his travel career with a Majors-level state championship
